Gallery Reorganisation
The next step of the website alterations have gone live, following on from the new logo and colour scheme:
Access to the old Project 365 album has been removed, but I will be transferring the images over to my flickr gallery as an archive of the project - more news on that when it happens. Some of the more recent Project 365 images have been incorporated into my updated portfolio.
On the homepage, the old “Gallery” link is now “Portfolio” and will take you directly to the portfolio gallery. This is also reflected in the navigation bar at the top of other pages of the site. I want the website to reflect my best/favourite images, which is why I want the gallery section to be focused on my portfolio.
Client image galleries used to be accessed from the old gallery link, after logging into the site. This has been modified so that, when a client logs into the site, they are taken directly to their image gallery.
Coming up next will be the facility for visitors to buy prints of images directly from the site - watch this space…
A Splash of Colour
As you may have noticed, the website has undergone a minor style change. I felt that the existing colour scheme was a bit on the grey side, so I decided to add an accent colour to liven things up a little. As well as the splashes of red and some brighter text in places, I have re-designed the logo for the site and created a new home page.
The new scheme has been tested on a few different browsers, but if you see anything a bit freaky (not including pictures of me) let me know so I can get the web monkeys working on it. Comments on the new look are also welcome!
A Few Changes
I’ve decided to stop doing my Project 365. With taking an image every day, I have found that some days I have just been pressing the shutter at a subject in order to have some sort of entry for that day. Because of this, I have not been happy with the quality of a number of the entries, which is not a direction that I want my photography to be heading in. When I make an image of something, I want it to be because something motivated me to capture it and not because I felt that I had to.
Over the next few weeks I will be doing some reorganisation of the gallery section of the site. The existing Project 365 gallery will be removed, but a number of the images will still appear under different galleries. I’m currently thinking about the best way to reorganise it so that I can showcase a variety of images without it getting too cluttered and awkward to navigate.
As well as the reorganisation, I am planning to add a mechanism for visitors/clients to buy prints and products direct from the gallery.
The blog will now detail new additions to the galleries as well as the occasional behind the scenes look at the setup or stories behind particular images. If there are any images that you would like some more info on, feel free to let me know. I’ll still be doing the odd review or tutorial too.
Apologies to those who have been following the Project 365 images, but I hope you continue to check out the site for new images appearing on the gallery.

Aaron Johnson’s well observed, photography based comic strip, “What The Duck”, is now appearing on the site.
This popular comic strip has been running since 2006 and has since spawned books, calendars, t-shirts and even a plush toy.
The most recent edition of What The Duck will be displayed on the blog. Visit www.whattheduck.net for previous comic strips as well as all the latest WTD news and information.
New Website Launched
Welcome to the new look ‘Jamie Willmott Photography’ website.
As you have probably noticed (since you are currently reading it) I have added a blog to the site to run alongside the exisiting gallery.
Having the blog will allow me to go into some more detail about the images on the site as well as being an outlet for my general ramblings.
As well as the blog, I’ve also added a main front page and an ‘info” page to the site. The main front page highlights the addition of the blog and the info page gives some background information about myself and the site.
To keep a consistent look for the site, I’ve re-themed the gallery section. Comments for images will now live in the blog (I’ll have blog posts whenever new images are added) to make the gallery less cluttered.
RSS feeds are available for all galleries and blog posts if you prefer to follow things that way.
